Across all bridges
Those bounding steps of those crossing
Who patter the rhythm to wheel tuneful bygones
Universal to us, there’s always been these songs

All bridges crossed, yet maybe.
That may be, but that last one may come
What matters to us, if one more comes along?
We’ve lasted long enough, universal to die.

So In this afterworld, where we’ve parked to rest.
That last bridge was crossed some time ago.
To our perception, time and matter’s compressed If for awhile, or forever: what do we listen to?

If I turned to you to rest, would you stay a beat?
Could we sing in bars, where stanzas meet?
Does music still exist in heaven?
Are you and I instruments, entwined in sin?

If I forgave you, could you forgive me too?
For us alone, this language of university.
If I used the word to create two letters for ‘us’
Could you become my pupil, to shine a light?

The one who I’ll feel the rest of my days
Professed forward, even in unreal circumstance
Where all around, no matter how I look around
Even when I’m down, I can still look up to you.

Even if you can’t see me
I’ll always see you then

I loved it Joey, the last paragraph moved me...it's astonishing how letters can do that.
