Hello friends,
I have recently noticed a beneficial effect of diazepam (10-25mg and presumably more) on my breathing. I suffer from mild asthma and I smoke, both of which often make my breathing a little tight and I have a mild cough sometimes. On diazepam I have completely clear airways every time, no irritation from smoke, no coughing etc. I was wondering if there was some pharmacological theories on this. Potentially from positive modulation of the GABAA receptors, thus smooth muscle relaxant in the bronchioles? Is this a valid theory, or has anyone seen any good research into this effect? All input, anecdotal, academic or otherwise would be most appreciated,
Cheers in advance,
