HEAVILY armed police were taking no chances when they swooped on a Forest Lake home in a dramatic raid yesterday.

Special Emergency Response Team officers arrived at the property in a nine-tonne, $400,000 armoured BearCat vehicle.

The anti-terror vehicle, covered in bullet and blast resistant steel, was brought in after fears an occupant of the Trinity Close home could be armed.

Officers aimed their weapons at the home and called out to the occupants, who eventually emerged one by one with their hands in the air.

Police handcuffed four people as shocked neighbours hid inside their homes in the quiet suburban street.

Seems extremely over the top, which is slightly unusual for Australia.

It's an armored vehicle. Calling it an anti-terror vehicle is doublespeak, akin to etching PEACEMAKER on a hydrogen bomb.

A 30-year-old man was charged with offences relating to the possession of drug utensils and is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court today.

A 33-year-old woman was charged with separate drug offences and was bailed to appear in court later this month.

Sounds like a bong and a couple of grams of weed.
