Peyote cactus preparation please help

So I've just got a peyote cactus with 20 some buttons on it. My intention was to cut the buttons and make a smoothies like juice with grapefruit in it but how deep you cut the buttons and should I cut it like a small square like shapes and then add to a blender with grapefruit juice. any ideas? can't find anything in youtube

Slice it into thin slices, but you're supposed to cook it first... maybe look up peyote tea tek on google. You're not gonna want to add any mass to the stuff, trust me.
