Pearl is standing by the far side
of the bar, having perfected
the art of not giving a fuck
over the years

The satin blouse like a smear
of blood on her frame,
a dizzy reminder of what
we used to be -

Once our pulses were clocks
counting down our extinction,
wired into a synchronized
unwavering beat

Pearl taught me how to banish sleep
and convert oxygen to nutrition,
and love,
whatever that was,
into a dangerous game

The jet black skirt hugging her hips,
enclosing the prison where
she kept me, locked,
starved,
alone

Pearl is leaning on the counter
I painted with the blood and
teeth of whoever shot her
as much as a look

A weary bell signals the last call
and I walk up to Pearl, already
weak and crushed,
to once again be destroyed

Pearl appears an imminent prison of what we both love and fear.
is this "life"?
and love,
whatever that was

I think Pearl is every girl I ever dated in some sense. Or maybe she's love?

She might just be Pearl. I'm not sure.

I have a great quote for you:

"Multiple personalities. Don't freak out but I'm pretty sure I have them. Not a clinical thing, not a disease. But a distraction to be sure. There are maybe six or seven pretty concrete versions of myself knocking around in here and I mean it gets fucking crowded when everybody is drunk or talking at once."

Thank you man, I appreciate that! <3
