Parnate and driving

Has anyone here been prescribed Parnate before? It's an oldschool irreversible MAOI, third line for treating major depression and anxiety.

I have just been prescribed it and upon reading up in more detail, it appears to be an amphetamine analogue. In fact, some case studies of people abusing it, indicate at high doses, one of the metabolites of it is methamphetamine. I don't know how this all works.

Anyway, I have no interest in abusing it, but what I am concerned about is driving. Not the act itself, but rather that if I was given a random drug test I have an amphetamine analogue in my system, that may break down into methamphetamine. This sounds like bad news. Does anyone know much about it?

I did ask my doctor about driving on it and he said it's fine as long as I feel capable, but I didn't know what I stated above at the time. Any thoughts?
