Out of curiosity, can injecting alcohol up your rectum, instead of the normal oral method, affect your pancreas? I am asking for someone with pancreatitis, who has had a few bouts with acute pancreatitis and because of her greatly damaged pancreas is no longer supposed to drink.
I guess my question is: Does the alcohol, with it's ability to harm the panceas because the pancreas must "filter" it/release enzymes etc, effectively bypass the pancreas and cause less--or no-- damage?
