Does nymphomania really exist?
Do you have examples around you?
How does it manifest? What are the causes or factors?

I have done a lot of research on the subject recently because a friend of mine suffers from it.
Yes, I am talking about suffering because it is heavy to manage for her on a daily basis.
Here is what I have found on the subject in a somewhat anarchic way, but I would especially like to have answers to my questions posed at the beginning.
Thank you.

What is a nymphomanic?
There has been much to say about women who are termed nymphomanics. In the old days women were killed for this in some cultures. In today's time some look down on these amazing women and they are called whores and sluts. Most men cant handle a relationship with a nymphomanic because of their own sex drive being to.low or because they don't understand tgem. Definition of nymphomania are hypersexuality, women who can't get enough sex and nymphomaniacal (use of women) affected with excessive sexual desire . Real story of my friend :

my only purpose in life is to make guys happy get fucked by many endless guys

i just wanna get fucked and make as many guys cum as possible, some guys tell me they love me and they say thank you to me after i send them nudes, and it makes me really happy. i can feel how much pleasure i give these boys by sending them my nudes. i really wanna become a pornstar but i want my cuck bf to be the one thats recording me getting fucked by many guys for the rest of my life even when im 60 i wanna be getting used by many guys for my holes. when im being recorded i really want to say to the camera “hi mom i do porn for fun” or “hi mom im a big cock whore” or “hi mom and dad i love getting fucked on camera to make these 18 year old boys cum” and i want my cuck bf to set up lots of gang bangs for me i wanna get gang banged by the guys at parties, i wanna get recorded of me getting held down by the guys, getting fisted by them, getting fucked hard till my pussy hurts, and i want guys to make me scream on camera as they take turns fucking me. the only thing i enjoy is making guys happy from fucking me and making them cum.

any men want to help me get a bad reputation in for being a shameless dirty whore?

i want boys to recognize me in public and hit on me for being such a cock slut online, like i want them to finger me in public without my permission im sure most of them will be too scared to do that to me but either way i want boys to see me in public and know that im that dirty cock whore that they heard about online and around town and i want them to just hit on me and try to take me to their car or the mens restroom to fuck me and i really want people to laugh at me and spit on me and i want all the wives and girlfriends to get paranoid when im around their husbands & boyfriends in public like standing too close to them;)

Then, what about the origin ?

The causes of nymphomania (now more commonly referred to as hypersexuality disorder) are not fully understood, but there are several factors that may contribute to the development of the disorder. Some possible causes include:

  1. Hormonal imbalances: An imbalance in hormones such as estrogen, testosterone, or thyroid hormones can affect sexual desire and behavior.
  2. Neurological disorders: Certain neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's disease or dementia, can cause hypersexuality.
  3. Substance abuse: Drug or alcohol abuse can increase sexual desire and lead to compulsive sexual behavior.
  4. Trauma or abuse: Past experiences of sexual trauma or abuse can contribute to the development of hypersexuality.
  5. Mental health disorders: Hypersexuality can be a symptom of certain mental health disorders, such as bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder.
It's important to note that not all individuals with hypersexuality disorder have a clear cause or underlying condition. Treatment often involves therapy and medication to manage symptoms.

"My only purpose in life is to make guys happy" just sounds like masively low self-esteem to me - searching for an external verification which is seemingly absent in her own psyche

Also all the self-degradation / uninvited attention stuff she mentions..that doesn't have to be part and parcel of how I perceive nymphomania (excessive sexual drive), and it sounds more unhealthy. To me, but ymmv as always

Nymphomania is unhealthy cause is illness anyway so you are right

Is there some sort of distinction between sex addiction and nymphomania?

Nymphomania sounds like an old word that isn't politically correct anymore.

born a nymphomaniac
As in like ancient Greek/Pagan beliefs?

What is the male equivalent of a nymphomaniac?

I think some people, due to genetic and environmental factors during development, become addicted to sex in a similar manner to how some people become alcoholics or drug addicts.

Technically everyone is born addicted to sex, it's a primal drive just like eating food. But just like food, some people overindulge and it becomes a serious problem in their life and detrimental to their health.

The male equivalent of a nymphomaniac is typically referred to as a satyromaniac or satyriasis. However, it's important to note that both terms are outdated and not commonly used in modern medical or psychological literature. Instead, professionals may use the broader term hypersexuality or compulsive sexual behavior to describe excessive sexual behavior in both men and women.

My questions at the begining was :

Despite it being an outdated term, yes people, or just women if you're talking about nymphomania, can be hypersexual to the extent it would be considered a medical condition.
I'm not certain about how it manifests, but my money would be on conditioning, either by abuse or neglect. However hypersexuality could be also caused by biology too, and I believe there are also cases if it occurring due to head injury too.
No real examples in real life I can think of, but certainly women with very high sex drives, who sadly get called bikes or sluts, when they likely need therapy/medication if it's causing misery and/or dangerous behaviour.

I'm not sure of the proper definition for nymphomania, but I had one ex-girlfriend that I would definitely consider hypersexual. We would have done it 3 or 4 times already on a work night (long sessions, not quickies), I would only have a couple hours to try and get some sleep, and she would get mad at me for not wanting to do it again.

I have a lot of stamina, but she's the only woman who ever wore *me* out!

Was she manic/bipolar? I had an ex and he was like your ex. I mean, I like and enjoy sex, but I need sleep as well.

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, obtained over 30 years ago, so maybe out of date, but I specifically recall that when we were taught about nymphomania, we were taught that it is misunderstood by mainstream society because it is NOT women who love sex too much. It is actually just the opposite. Women who have a particularly hard time reaching orgasm or enjoying sex are driven to try to find a guy who will get them off, so they hop from guy to guy, trying lots of lovers. It's a quest for good sex and/or orgasm because they have a hard time enjoying it.

In particular, for these women, the first time they have sex with a guy, the experience may be tinged with a special newness and intensity and excitement, so they might actually enjoy it and have orgasm or get close the first time, but then subsequent encounters this goes away and they are back to having trouble getting off, so they have to keep finding new lovers to really enjoy sex. But really, they would prefer if they could find a guy that they could have great sex with over the long term, but their psychological dysfunction interferes with this.

Anyway, that may not be the only variation of nymphomania, but it's the one I recall. And it seemed consistent with my personal experience, that women who sleep around are looking for that "magic dick" because they don't feel like they are enjoying sex as much as they should, as much as other women, it is not that they enjoy sex more than other women.

That's fascinating. Her Zoloft made it almost impossible to reach orgasm, so there could be some truth to that.

She would keep saying, "I'm almost there; just give me one more minute!", but that minute never arrived.

I had a girlfriend like that. Whether we were having sex, I went down on her, used vibrator, she'd be, "that's going to make me cum!" but then it never did. Eventually, she admitted that as she was getting close, thoughts would pop into her head like, "I bet he's bored of doing this... I probably look stupid... His mouth is probably getting tired and he just wants to be done with this..." and stuff like that. Those thoughts would then drive the impending orgasm away, and she'd then get close again, the thoughts would come back, and so on. These kinds of thoughts are basically equivalent to sexual performance anxiety in men that may inhibit erections. Anyway, with some reassurances and some 2cb, she got over this anxiety. (I'm not sure the 2cb was a necessary ingredient.)
