This is a very, very long story.
Part 1:
I don't believe in God.
If someone uses that word, God, around me, I would immediately think they are something other than what I would consider myself. I would think Abrahamic religion, and organized religion in general. Cults. Weirdos and small thinking humans. People I would walk swiftly away from in real life. Far off esoteric beliefs. Things I detest due to their history of humanistic fallacy and horror.
I am many things, but I am not that. I am not them.
I grew up atheist. In my 20s the concepts of Buddhism and Taoism entered my life, and their teachings seemed like a warm beach compared to the cold altar of agnosticism and ignored Western Religion.
Their ideas made a lot of sense to me and still do, but to call myself Buddhist or Taoist would be a farce the size of a child's foot in Shaquille O'Neal shoes.
I spent over 30 years going to AA meetings. Enslaved to all sorts of drugs. You name it, I've abused it beyond reason and responsibility.
Eventually I became suicidal from the madness of addiction; the same thing over and over expecting a different result. I had been passively suicidal for many years. I'm talking about active thoughts.
A year ago I had just left my 14th rehab as an adult. I was doing well for awhile, until I wasn't. The chronic suicidal passitlvity turned into full blown active desire to end my life.
I simply could not fit any more pain into my head. It didn't fit. Like trying to stuff a hamburger into a hot dog bun, nothing made sense anymore. The suffering was no longer controlled with even egregious levels of narcotics.
I decided to end my life on April 2nd, 2025.
I wanted to go out splash. I'm not some hole in back of the mouth chump.
I wanted to go out like a Rockstar. I wasn't going to OD on fent or some normal bullshit, I was going to do all the drugs in the world... and I did.
I made several large dark net purchases. Everything you can imagine. I also started drinking hard that night.
I hobble into my car and drive to the local Circle K to buy more booze and cigs. I bring my loot over to the register where an attractive younger black woman half my age sizes up my loot and asks for my ID.
She looks at my ID and then glares back at me. I'm obviously close to 40 and usually don't get checked. She stares back at my ID and then randomly says to me, "You know that you're protected, right?"
I was caught off guard and had no idea what she was talking about. I thought SHE was the weirdo druggie. But no....
What that young woman said to me that night set in motion the strangest set of coincidences I've ever had in my life. It led to me becoming sober. It led to me believing in God.
But in the end it was a realization of the paranormal aspects of Jungian synchronicity.
