Hey folks...i have been a user for a ridiculous amout of time. My latest has been Dilaudin. I have been hooked for 4 years now. I went to a Sub doc a few weeks back and he prescribed me 2 8mg strips daily. Problem is i dont think that was enough. And was wondering how i should go about asking him to increase my doseage. He suggested 3 a day initially but im trying to not be an addict anymore so I suggested the 2. Any advice is appreciated and apologies for the length of this book i just put down...

Hey there darth, welcome to Bluelight! :)

I'm afraid we can't give you advice on how to get your doctor to increase your dose - I'm sure you can appreciate how that might be construed as helping you to 'score' more drugs.

However, if you genuinely feel your pain or addictive impulses (I'm assuming it's one or the other or both) aren't being met by your current dose, you should certainly discuss that with him/her. Obviously your doc is likely to be concerned about making any potential addiction worse though.

The awesome thing, if you can call it that, is that when you are in the office of an addiction medicine specialist and you are genuinely trying to get better, there is absolutely no need to lie. You don't need a script, you don't need lines and you shouldn't need advice. I think you just need to tell your prescriber that it isn't enough and tell them, while being completely honest, why you believe it is not working for you.

Given that we don't help people get scripts here nor do we give them any advice on how to make doctors for drugs, whether they "actually need it" or not, this thread is going to be closed. I'm not saying this is you. I feel you have a pretty reasonable and legitimate situation going on, so we're happy to advise you, but the only advice from us is always going to be either honesty or figure it out yourself.

Good luck and I hope your quest for a better life works out for you. I have faith!
