So I'm curious would heat damage my cold water extraction if i tried to reduce it over boil to increase potency?
 
I wouldn't let it get to a boil and rely on something like a fan, as heat can cause problems with codeine and some of it's relatives. Oxy and Hydro are far more stable than codeine though.

If you're consuming orally why would a little extra water decrease potency?
