Microdosing and HPPD

I am currently microdosing Psilocybin and I am wondering if it can have a negative impact on already existing HPPD symptoms?

HPPD is caused by excitotoxicity in the visual pathways right? So non-hallucinogenic doses of psychedelics should not be able to cause excitotoxicity?

It certainly made mine worse. Although I was not officially diagnosed with HPPD.

Perhaps you're confused about the meaning of the word excitotoxicity. The classical psychedelics won't cause this. The classical psychedelics are non-toxic at normal doses. Also, sober people experience the same visual phenomenon people claim is HPPD. This phenomenon isn't inherently the result of recreational drug usage. Just something to note.
