This is a serious issue. Menopause. It ain't just about hot flashes. No one tells you what is going to happen to you. There needs to be discussion, nationwide. They talk about abortion like squeezing zits, so why can't they warn women that they are going to reach a point where not only do they stop bleeding, but they could get pregnant if they do not use protection for the first five years in case there are eggs trying to move around. Or that you wake up one day and you feel like a vampire -- one with the earth and your hormones are on fire -- how you will become mentally stupid for a year or so, thinking you have dementia because you suddenly have forgotten everything. And there is dryness in your mouth, your skin, in our eyes, and in your vagina. No matter how excited you think you may become in the future, etc., lubricant will now be your best friend because you will never know the feeling of getting wet again. I stand corrected. You made spot when you lose a little bladder control, but that is a different topic.
You cannot sleep. You are hot, very hot. Then, you are cold, freezing cold. Covers off, on, up and down. You rage and want to kill everyone as you want to also eat everything in sight. And your body will award you by changing its form by gaining in different areas so the fat clothes you always kept around for binges suddenly don't fit right because the weight is distributed in areas it never was before. There are various cancers and hormones that kill the libido and suddenly your in a unknown timewave of never thinking about sexual activity again.
Personally, I enjoyed vaginal atrophy where my husband could not get his penis inside my vagina and it was like here was a cement wall blocking it. I have a cousin who is obsessed with menopause and on vacation I just brought it up and she told me to get Premerin cream, a light hormone cream from my doctor, and it did the trick.
And ladies and gentlemen, if you have the patience and a man you love when you get the gates to open, start a lubricant collection and get ready for orgasms and stamina you may never have experienced.
