Man nearly decapitated by booby trap guarding his 'pot' plantation

A man died after being nearly decapitated by a booby trap he set up himself to protect his cannabis plants from thieves.
Daniel Ricketts, 50, who owns property Albany County, in the US state of New York, was identified as the victim on Sunday, the Times Union reports.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said Mr Ricketts was driving an all terrain vehicle, or quad bike, on his property when he was almost decapitated after running into a nearly invisible wire that was part of fortifications he had constructed nea r his cannabis plants.

The wire appeared to be the type used in pianos, but Sheriff Apple said it was unclear what purpose it served as a security measure.
Other components of the booby traps included barbed wire and a leg trap used to trap coyotes or other animals.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the accident,Sheriff Apple said.
An investigation is ongoing.

Good.. the use of automatic indistinguishable dangerous traps to protect grow ops is fucking bullshit.. so glad he died instead of some innocent.. yeah getting your whole crop or operation poached is bullshit but not nearly as bullshit as loosing your head because you wander to close to a grow. legalize it and you will take allot of this aspect away.
