Making some dank oil -- clandestine chemistry style.

My recent wax synthesis. Hopefully this will bring some ideas into the minds of my fellow bees. ;)

300mL 99.9% Diethyl Ether was brought to a boil on an electric hotplate in a 1000mL Round Bottom Boiling flask. To this flask, there was added 10 grams of Dry Sieve containing
roughly 43% THC and 2.1% CBD. The solution was magnetically stirred for 15 minutes and held at below boiling temperature. At this point, a vacuum filtration setup was
put together. Gravity filtration would work fine, but if you are impatient about filtering, vacuum is the way to go. A 1000mL Erlenmeyer Filter Flask was outfitted with filter
paper in a glass funnel and the solution was filtered into the flask. This solution was poured into a Pyrex Visionware Cake Dish and evaporated on heat to yield crude oil.
The non-polarity of the solvent allowed dissolution of only the desired compounds and some impurities. The oil was scraped up with a razor blade and added to a 500mL Erlenmeyer
Flask. The oil was dissolved at a ratio of 3:1 in Hot Anhydrous Isopropyl Alcohol (100*F), and placed into a freezer. After several hours, the oil crashed out of solution at a yield of
80% on the first recrystallization. This was a decent yield, so I did not recrystallize again. The oil was filtered by vacuum filtration and set on a hot plate to evaporate
residual solvent. The oil was then dissolved again in 90mL Diethyl Ether and 1 gram of Magnesium Sulfate was added to the vessel. After agitation, the solution became entirely non-polar.
The solution was filtered and evaporated again on a hotplate. This oil was added to a 500mL Round Bottom Flask and dissolved in Diethyl Ether. Drop-wise, sulphuric acid was added
until the PH of the Ether solution reached +1. The flask was outfitted with a 200mm Graham Reflux Condenser and refluxed for 3 hours. The solution was neutralized with Sodium Bicarbonate until the PH
returned to +7. This reaction fluid was added to a 1000mL separatory funnel and the oil layer separated. After evaporation, the oil was collected and added to a 1000mL Round
Bottom Flask outfitted with a vacuum distillation set up. The oil was dissolved in 90mL D-Limonene and distilled under vacuum to separate the THC from lipids and fats.
After condensation of the oil, the synthesis yielded 2.8g roughly 95% Pure THC Oil at a 65% yield.
