Lyrically Speaking (a word game)

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

Everybody goes
Leaving those who fall behind
Everybody goes
As far as they can
They don't just care
You're a wasted face
You're a sad-eyed lie
You're a holocaust.

When the cool of the pond makes you drop down on it
When the smell of the lawn makes you flop down on it
When the teenage car gets the cop down on it
That time is here for one more year
That summer feeling's gonna haunt you
The rest of your life.

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out 'til fall
We might not go back at all

School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely

We don't need no education.
We don't need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
… HEY .. TEACHER … Leave them kids alone.

The star quarterback lies injured
Unconscious on the football field
Looks like his neck's been broken
Seems to happen somewhere every year

His mom and dad clutch themselves and cry
Their favorite son will never walk again
Coach says, "That boy gave a hundred percent
What spirit
What a man"

But who cares?
Games over-Let's go get wasted man
To the 7-11, to the liquor store
Let's party all night and party some more

Another Trans-Am
Wrapped itself around a telephone pole
"I ain't drunk, officer
I just fell gettin' out of my car"

Don't worry about it, son
We were that way when we were young
You've got all the skills
To make a damn good businessman

All spit and spite you're up all night and down every day
A tired man with only hours to go just waiting to be taken away
Getting in to the back of a car for candy from some stranger
Watching the parade with pinpoint eyes full of smoldering anger
You can do what you want to whenever you want to
You can do what you want to there's no one to stop you
Now you can do what you want to whenever you want to
Do what you want to whenever you want to
Do what you want to whenever you want to
Though it doesn't mean a thing
Big nothing

I would
I take a look around
It's evident the scene has changed
And there are times when I feel improved upon the past
Then there are times when I can't seem to understand at all
And yes it seems as though I'm going nowhere
Really fucking fast

We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feeling okay this morning
And you know
We're on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go

We're on a ride to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there

And with the early dawn
Moving right along
I couldn't buy and eyeful of sleep
And in the aching night under satellites
I was not received
Built with stolen parts
A telephone in my heart
Someone get me a priest
To put my mind to bed
This ringing in my head
Is this a cure or is this a disease

Living is nice
When you're spun like a kite
Sugar and tea and cream
Looks like the sea is green with rivalry
Now that I know just what you're all about
I want out
I live inside
All invited inside
Sugar and tea and cream
Looks like the sea is green with rivalry
Now that I know just what you're all about
I want out
Life is real when you're dreaming
Life's a dream when you're reeling
Now I want out

Until the sky turns green
And the grass is several shades of blue
Every member of parliament trips on glue

T takes all these things and all that time
Till my sugar spun sister’s happy
With this love of mine
It’ll take all these things and oh much more

How does this work? When we guess the song, name the title? TLB, I don't know the one you just posted. I got Ozzy's Crazy Train, Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb, and Alice Cooper's School's Out. (you made that one too easy!)

Here's one that probably nobody will get. Hint: They play it a lot on George Noory's radio show, Coast to Coast

It's that same kind of story
That seems to come down from long ago
Two friends having coffee together
When something flies by their window
It might be out on that lawn
Which is wide, at least half a playing field
Because there's no explaining what your imagination
Can make you see and feel

It's meant to be more of a normal thread, back and forth building on the previous person's post, but it is all written with strictly with lyrics. Have to post enough lyrics from a song to be identifiable as a specific song, but not the whole damn thing .

With this, I could find a song with lyrics about being in a coffeeshop or similar setting with a friend, or more likely try to take the last two lines about imagination and find a song to quote from that because it's easier, like this:

I can see trough mountains, watch me disappear
I can even touch the sky
Swallowing colours of the sound I hear
Am I just a crazy guy (you bet)

Mamma's going to worry
I've been a bad, bad boy
No use saying sorry
It's something that I enjoy

My hands are at your throat
And I think I hate you
We made the same mistakes
Mistakes like friends do
My hands are at your throat
And I think I hate you
We made the same mistakes
Made the same mistakes
Until the day I die
I'll spill my heart for you, for you

Now you're punching and you're kicking
And you're shouting at me
I'm relying on your common decency
So far it hasn't surfaced
But I'm sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man

Help me understand

Now you're punching and you're kicking
And you're shouting at me
I'm relying on your common decency
So far it hasn't surfaced
But I'm sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man

Help me understand

People are people so why should it be? you and I should get along so awfully

Okay I see how to do it now. Here's another oldie :)

It was a Monday, a day like any other day

I left a small town, for the apple to decay

It was my destiny, it's what we needed to do

They were telling me, I'm telling you

I was inside, looking outside

The millions of faces

But still I'm alone

I don't wanna be lonely no more
I don't wanna have to pay for this
I don't want to know the lover at my door
Just another heartache on my list

I don't wanna be angry no more
You're the one who could never stand for this
So when you tell me that you love me no for sure
I don't want to be lonely anymore
