LSD ,= NO LETHAL DOSE

the only trips lasting 12 hours or less are very weak hits of acid. 500 ug will have you still seeing heavy reality morphing visuals 16 hours into the trip and still more geometric patterns til you manage to sleep which might be 28-30 hours later.
 
My trips last at least 14-16 hours and not even with high dose, they have always been 150-200ug. I can't imagine doing a heroic dose.
 
LSD is fairly stimulating as far as classical psychedelics go, and, obviously, extremely potent, it doesn't seem impossible to me that it could kill at obscenely high doses.

The idea that it's simply not possible to overdose on LSD is, I think, a little baseless - and a result of looking at LSD only through rose tinted glasses, so speak.

For one - fatal doses of LSD have actually been measured in animals. The LD50 in mice and rats is known, and while a lethal dose hasn't been definitively proven in humans, or, indeed, any primates, the observed effects of ultra-high doses of LSD are serious enough that it does not seem inconceivable they could cause death especially in more vulnerable individuals, with weakened immune systems, pre-existing conditions or disease, or, probably, if the dose was several times higher.

The LD50 of LSD varies from species to species. The most sensitive species is the rabbit, with an LD50 of 0.3 mg/kg i.v. [52]. The LD50 for rats (16.5 mg/kg i.v.) is much higher [52,53], though mice tolerate doses of 46– 60 mg/kg i.v. [52,54]. These animals expired by paralysis and respiratory failure. Monkeys (Macaca mulatta) have been injected with doses as high as 1 mg/kg i.v. without any lasting somatic effects [55].

There have been no documented human deaths from an LSD overdose. Eight individuals who accidentally consumed a very high dose of LSD intranasally (mistaking it for cocaine) had plasma levels of 1000–7000 μg per 100 mL blood plasma and suffered from comatose states, hyperthermia, vomiting, light gastric bleeding, and respiratory problems. However, all survived with hospital treatment and without residual effects [56]

"Comatose states, hyperthermia, vomiting, light gastric bleeding, and respiratory problems" - so taking the upper limit of survivability - 7mg / 100ml of blood plasma, and going by the average of 5 L of blood volume, plasma making up 58% of that (results of a quick google, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure it's a good enough ballpark) - we get 7 x 10 x 5 x 0.58 = ~200mg as a dose that's been recorded as survivable, with some possible caveats such as the need for access to a hospital, although it's hard to say if that was really a necessity.

What about if that dose was upped to 100x, say, 20g? Like one of those protein scoopers full of LSD. How about 10 of those? I'd say it's believable this would be fatal. Maybe not, and it's surely very difficult to kill yourself with LSD alone, but surely not impossible.
 
Also to the point of someone saying earlier that an LSD chemist had a million hits spilled on them... LSD absorbs poorly through the skin, so only a tiny fraction of that would have absorbed (plus most would have dripped off), if it is indeed true (it has the sound of urban legend as well).

went straight through his entire body in solvent through his eyes mouth nose drenched in ten litres. He took a water shower and prayed to god tripped hard and was fine afterwards.
 
In regards to an excessive dose, I would be more worried about permanent/long-term psychological issues than death. I've spoken with some folks a bit higher up in the chain who had stories of guys spilling undiluted on them and never coming back. They said that before they let you work with them, they make you touch it, to make sure you can handle an accident. Might be urban legend, who knows.
 
Chemists use to be very careless back in the days wearing no gloves or safety gear while making lsd some of them topless in bare feet. I have seen chemists even in this modern lay lick chemicals off their hand to clean it due to stupid instincts nicolas sand use to do the same while making lsd so they would regulary accidently dose themselves with 1000ug +
 
whatever 1/2 a hit of lsd lasts the same amount o ftime as 10 hits or 25 hits, taking a massive dose isn't going to last for days, it's not dose dependent

LSD trip time increases and peaks extended for the more taken til it maxes up around 30-40 hours for doses over 2000 ug.

I don't consider afterglow part of the trip. So this person snorted 55 mg and had a 12 hour trip. Most the big dose stories I hear sound like school yard bragging mixed with placebo to be quite honest. No amount of LSD ever makes my trips longer, they just get more intense.
 
That hasn't been my experience. Any drug has a half life, after which half of the active dose will have been eliminated, leaving the other half still active. Simple math tells you that if you take, say, 20mg of something, after 1 half life 10mg will be left, then 5mg after the next one, etc. At some point the dose still remaining is below the active dose and you aren't high anymore. If you taek, instead, 40mg, then after the first half life, there is 20mg left, then 10mg, then 5mg... there is an entire extra half life of an active dose left in the brain. That's why in the 60s when people were taking "STP" (DOM), which was dosed at ridiculously high 20mg dosages, and they were taking 2 or 3, they were tripping for 2 days instead of the normal duration of 12-16 hours (the active dose is like 3-5mg). The afterglow is certainly part of the trip, it is a lower dose of the drug lingering in your bloodstream that is much less intense than the peak.

Also quit with the insults, it's not necessary at all. You're just coming across as dick sizing.

LSD specifically might be a bit different as the half life is quite short. Recent research has shown that LSD binds to serotonin receptors in a pretty unique way and gets locked in so the effects are caused by a cascade that still goes on after the drug isn't detectable in the bloodstream anymore.

Basically, the case was the guys death was put as LSD overdose / poisoning. ( It wasn't this word used,it was something similar though).
So, the partner is convicted of manslaughter.

She however, won her appeal because some experts said you cannot die from LSD.

I was shocked because surely drinking even lets say a tiny amount, 10 mls. Is going to kill you. Never mind 100ml.

So was programme correct in saying that can't die from overdoing acid?

I have been doing LSD for Over half my life span with hundreds of trips and combined with it most mainstream drugs. That 550 doses at once is a total bullshit story. You also lack any ability to comphrend the article since she was tripping balls to the walls for 24 hours.
 
It actually never wears off. :D I am a different person each time for good.

Would like to share my experience as well as opinion on the length of time tripping on large amounts. Just thoughts, certainly not confrontational. I have taken 1000 mics and more a few times. If I took it in the morning, I would trip the whole day, but once I slept and woke up I was down. Yes there are residuals for me even days after tripping on regular trip. Every time I toke it brings the trip back. But I am down after the initial 12-16 hours regardless of how much I took and then went to sleep. In fact mescaline at any dose seemed to last longer than even large amounts of LSD. Mescaline (or at least whole cactus) can last me 16 + hours and even when I sleep and wake up I an still feel it pulsing.

Now I am not saying that people can't trip for two days on a large dose. They may. From my experience larger doses did last longer, just not beyond sleeping for me. But I would never tell another what they do or do not experience. I just remember the opinions I formed from my experiences.

So just saw the 550 hits cured Lyme disease story. Hmmm, coud be my BS detector is also up. What do I know though.
 
That story is 100% bs your average person doesnt have LSD crystal lying around. Just a attention seeking whore telling wild stories to the dumb as researchers who soak it up without critical thought.

My longest resdiual trip was on candy flips with opiates mixed in and alot of weed on 600 ug for acid at the 12 hour mark i was smoking out of bongs and totally breakthrough came back to reality around 16 hours shaken with heavy visuals lasting til i managed to sleep 28 hours later these visuals were stronger than a 200 ug peak very strong oev geometric patterns on everything. 600 ug of acid with 300 mg mdma bunch of codeine pills and very strong pure sativa strain weed.
 
^ I thought so to TripSitter, they thought it was cocaine. Because everyone has crystal powder laying around you know. lol Oh boy.

Yup, just a few tokes brings back the trip a little the next day npo matter how much I took. But I have heard people say they tripped a loooong time from large doses. I can only imagine how long an overdose of something like DOPr would last. A week? Crazy.
