Opioids Long term opioids use-lower immune system?

I have been on various opiate/opiod therapy for seven years running, due to lower back problems. I notice that I get sick frequently. I have always chalked it up to my profession; I'm an elementary tech teacher. I touch so many devices and work with young kids. But lately I'm wondering if the long term opiates have messed up my GI tract and therefore my immune system. Anyone else notice this? I'm fairly regular, using Senna plus EVERY day. But I wonder...

Thanks for sharing thoughts.

Thank you!

They sure do, here read this link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8947928 . Oh and I'm sure being around all those human petri dishes of snot, poop, and many other germs on their unwashed hands doesn't help, lol! Get hand sanitizer and use frequently!

Thanks so much!
I try to wash my hands, but am usually running around like a crazy person. FYI, sanitizer only kills bacteria, not viruses; sucks for me!
