Does being a druggy mean you are more likely to be a left-winger? Does the freedom of being "on drugs" relate to "political freedom" in some metaphorical manner for you?

Mind you I think I used to see a lot of very right-wing americans on the shroomery forums years ago - very odd, really vicious right-wing politics but into psychedelics.

I think a lot of us are left leaning or more progressive but here in the deep south where I live, you’ll find a lot of conservatives who partake in stimulant usage quite a bit and of course opiate users, etc. I think a lot of it is on demographic myself, and that the usage of drugs just expresses maybe one’s sense of personal freedom or expression or just the overtly intrinsical need to escape that a lot of us feel. I do think more left leaning individuals tend to side towards psychedelics and dissociatives.
 
Intuition suggests that many types of drug users would be more left leaning. Bill Clinton even admitted that he smoked pot when asked in his election campaign, before losing his bottle, and pathetically wimping out by adding a day later "but I didn't inhale" and thus displeasing all sides.

But the stereoypical success and status driven coke head is probably going be right wing.

And the Nazis, with Hitler famously being into Amphetamines. And biker types and extremist right wing groups are known for being into stimulants too.

A mixed bag I would say.

"Druggy" is th exact word my mom uses & my mate's ex who was so puritan she was borderline mentally ill to reality use.

I swear a good 90% of your comments and posts make me think you're mentally ill.
I'd suggest some Hindu texts about Kali for you to read but would go over your head & Kali wouldn't be able to chop it off as soon as you understood the bigger picture in life.

I ask this in all legitimate sincerity, have you ever smoking N,N DMT?

3) I honestly suggest you read the book which is available all over the internet in PDF by Robert Anton Wilson called "Prometheus Rising" a proper read before you ever have children, cast a vote, drive a car & even think about expressing any opinion again simply for the sake of the collective consciousness of Humanity. Of course you are free to believe in w/e you want to believe, and you may not think that you fit into any slot or category ZB, but you are the one who is out there on a limb if what you say is what you believe.

More the subculture he knows some people place him in. That's the view I have of people who do it to me (or as I tend to put it, for comedic purposes, when people have shouted "look it's Jesus" at me, in an attempt at doing so to fit in with their limited world view, I wish I had replied - if there wasn't a group of them, "if I was Jesus, would I tell you to fuck off and die") 😁

Not so interested in everyones take on left/right policies - just wondered if the kind of person into drugs would also tend to "dress to the left".

Im afraid a broken bottle wouldnt be big enough - it would have to be a steel dildo and it would have to be electrified. Im patenting one - "Ismenes big green claw"

No religious views zb - the belief in the caste system put me off Hinduism. If anyone believes an entire class of poor people are only good for cleaning clinker theyve sprayed over the back of the toilet then its not for me.

The fact that right wing is always against legalization of it all, drugs, abortion, euthanasia, LGTB things, may have something to do with it.
Little they know that the real left are even worse, go tell Stalin you want to grow cannabis, go tell Mao you are a non binarian person...

But that's so left it's gone all the way around the corner and come out on the right (or as Orwell put it, "all animals are equal, but some are moreequal than others". No, lefties are duffel coat wearing, vegetarian, ecological composting gardiners.

But, anyway, you know the right wing are hypocrites as fuck. I remember then voting no to divorce (not abortion) in Spain after Franco or in Ireland as late as 1992. Half of them are divorced now. They right party here voted no to gay marriage, less than a year later the major of my town (a gay himself) was the MC at the gay marriage of one of his political mates in the council.
I bet millions of right wingers stand publically against drugs and then get high as bats.
So I don't really know if lefties are more pro drugs, but surely those who are would be more open to deffend it in public
 
Everyone is hypocritical to some degree, god knows I can be (is that an oxymoronic statement?). It's not just the hypocracy, it's the attitude that they know how everybody should live, but it doesn't apply to them. I advocate understanding others, but I have a horribly violent temper if all my buttons get pushed, but it doesn't mean that I think I should be exempt fromthe legal consequences of such behaviour. That's the difference - I would hope to god I have none of Boris Johnson's, or Michael Gove's traits...

^ I think sheep used to go for about £40-£60 a head, at agricultural marts. A night at a Darlington young farmers affair, I just remember hearing, 'lovely creatures, sheep" being stated, endlessly. Something which said in a half Durham, half Yorkshire accent (when stoned - me, not the young farmers 😁), was absolutely hilarious.
