Last movie you watched?

Hudsucker Proxy[/i]. I enjoyed the first two thoroughly, but made the mistake of watching Hudsucker last night while slightly drunk, very tired, and consequently fell asleep 2/3 of the way through. I'll finish watching it in the next couple days probably. What I did see I enjoyed--the Coens are masters of great dialog.
I love Huduscker. It's gotta be the best of their early films.

Stand By Me.

great fucking movie. Mr. King is a master storyteller (the movie is based on his story 'the body'). It also has a great 50's soundtrack.

One of my favourite films that is. It captures youthful exuberance & naivety perfectly, & has one of the finest senses of a period in time that I can think of.

Anyway, I've just finished watching The Bourne Supremacy.

I really enjoyed it. A good follow-up to the first film, & it's nice to see a Hollywood actioner that possesses some semblance of intelligence to it. Some good acting from Matt Damon & Brian Cox, & great car chases too. A big thumbs up.

maria, full of grace.

i was looking forward to seeing this, and it was worth it.

Nice! I just bought this on DVD. Damn i remember reading "the Body" in school. King is really good at Smalltown, USA.

it is isn't it :D

you should also try checking out in the mood for love sometime if you liked chungking so much. it by the same director and its an absolutely amazing film too.

i agree. wong kar-wai is unbelievable. For others, try 2046 (post-In the Mood), fallen angels, happy together, days of being wild, as tears go by, and ashes of time (although the u.s. dvd is complete crap).

No doubt I loved Chungking Express, and I just saw 2046 a couple days ago but I thought it was a different animal then CE. I liked the light spontaneity and sweet melancholy of CE better. Please elaborate on how the us version is crap. Do you mean there is something lost in the translation? or what.

I Love this girl.

No, the DVD transfer of Ashes of Time is shit. Not Chungking.

And yeah, 2046 is much different from Chungking.

The Assassination of Richard Nixon
I love gloomy films. Great movie and I'll watch it again. Sam, a dejected left-wing kook who lost everything good he had in his life, finally snaps. Based on a true story. Very 5-star acting from Sean Penn.

Constantine, it was pretty good, more than I expected, loved the special effects, too bad they didn't apply any on "lucifer" though..

Next up is saw 2, I'm hoping it won't be how most sequels end up, shit as hell..

Great lil movie about a group of asian high school students, who get bored with their high academic standards and go in search of some thrills that could kill

Nominated for Best Foreign Film Oscar and BAFTA award, this film, based on the novel by Lilian Lee, spans fifty years of Chinese art, passion and revolution, seen through the eyes of two male stars of the Peking Opera and the prostitute who comes between them.

second time for me to see this.....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i love all of gong lis movies.

this movie was extremely intense from start to finish. pretty subersive story line and imagry throughout. definitely worth checking out:)

Coffee & Cigarettes staring a bunch of famous people including Bill Murry, The Rza and the Gza. Was basically a collection of vignettes not really a set movie with a plot or start ending or finish, but rather listening to a collection of conversations. Not a great movie, but definitly a fun time. I'd watch it again and would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

yeah I watched that yesterday, it was pretty good. I especially liked the scene with the two actors and the family tree thing. That little role reversal had me laughing=D . The film had me taking a smoke break like every other scene tho.:X

^^^
HAHA. Oh my god as I was watching it I compusivly started craving a cigarette and a cup of coffee, low and behold 5 minutes later I was watching the movie while smoking and drinking coffee... It really is a great combination!

Yeah, i'm easily influenced, seeing people smoke just looks so enjoyable and nice though! I do the same thing when I watch cowboy bebop, their always lighting up and then I find myself lighting up seconds later. I dunno what it is...

Cape Fear - by Martin Scorsese - 1991

All I gotta say is Robert Mother fucking De Niro.
