I am going in for lasik surgery, I am pretty frightened by the prospect. I was thinking of taking ~1mg dilaudid in order to combat my fear before the operation. To the best of my knowledge wavefront/lasik in no way interacts with your pupils, and they give you painkillers right after. Is there any reason not to do this? (note, am prescribed and very lightly dependent/highly tolerant, so there's no reason why this should put me in a 'high' or fucked up state). Any insight would be appreciated, have to do this rather soon. Thanks

there shouldn't be an issue, DRs may give you some benzo or other though (I got versed for some eye shit once)

Ive heard they give you valium before the operation, so it may not be a good idea to take opiates first. Probably not a good idea to nod when youre having eye surgery.
