Just saw this movie last night, very entertaining. It's a documentary about a man trying to beat the 25 year record holder in Donkey Kong. A classic hero versus villain story that has fun with nerds without exploiting them.

i read about this. i'd love to catch it if it ever hits down here.

nerds, nerds and more nerds.

nice documentary subject matter, but there really isn't that much too it. the reigning champ, with his eighties hair style and wanker attitude, pissed me off greatly. the entire drama was a result of his fuckheadedness.
it was okay
2.5/5

hmmm... you just knocked the gloss right off of it for me

I'll still go and check it out though

It's a good movie. The reigning champ is an obvious douchebag. The challenger may be mildly autistic. The hangers on are losers who live in their mother's basements. The referee took acid and never came back. And oh yeah, Donkey Kong is in it, too. It's not going to change your world, but I'd recommend you watch it anyways.

[autism intensifies]

That pretty much sums up this pretty decent documentary.

good source material and a well-made documentary make this a very entertaining watch.

My brother was in New Hampshire and made it out to the arcade in this doc. He saw the guy who runs the place, the super-nerd among super-nerds obsessed w/ the kill screen. He said he approached him and started up a friendly conversation to which he was met w/ pomp. So my brother asked guy for his autograph and as dude was reluctantly complying my brother just walked off.

I think those segments depicting the protagonist as an involved family man set to the Cure were pretty nauseating to watch. What an original idea though - I can't remember if the filmmakers indicate how they conceived the idea.
