I've had the TMS , Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, it's not damaging at all. It's totally different than ECT . Completely different principle. You are conscious, sitting up, you can watch TV or read and some people even fall asleep during the procedure. It's administered as outpatient, you can drive immediately after and there is no anesthesia or drugs given. It's very effective and the effects last about a year. It's ungodly expensive here in the states but if you are a Canadian citizen in Vancouver you can get theprocedure for about $800 although there is a long wait list.
If I had umlimited money this would be mytreatment of choice. No side effects. You just need booster treatments continually. And actually compared to the cost of ketamone infusions given every few weeks it's probably about the same cost.
