Kava vs Phenibut

Now that Kratom is becoming illegal here in the U.S. I am attempting to find another pleasurable LEGAL substance. I know Phenibut, from what I've researched, can only be used at the most twice a week which would be perfectly fine. I haven't read as much about Kava.

For those who have tried both, which do you prefer and why? Thanks for your help!
