IV Heroin Harm Reduction

Hey there, new to blue light so I'm unsure if this is the right thread for this.
Anyways quick lowdown on myself: I'm have an opiate addiction of 3 years orally(pill popping), 1 year insufflating, and 6 months intravenously. I have tried every opiate in the books and my current tolerance is iv'ng 1 8mg-1 1/2 8mg dilaudid every day. I have acquired some inherently very strong heroin and my question is how much I should try, I have never actually done heroin intravenously but have sniffed it countless amounts of time. Any tips on preparation methods for heroin either or is it the same as pills?
This is my last run on opiates before I switch to my backup supply of subutex abd hopefully kick this demon for good.

The quality of heroin can vary widely, so the only safe thing to do is run a small amount first.

40mg to start shouldn't be dangerous (with your stated tolerance) even if it's really good.
