Is limp crystal dick due to anxiety?

Meth like other amphetamines make blood vessels shrink.
So things like viagra should help to get a errection but it does not work for me.
But when I take 5-htp i have no problem with errections, same when Im taking xanax.
So I guess a big part of the crystal dick issue is psychological.
What are ur thoughts on that?

It's because methamphetamine is a potent dopamine releaser and when lots of dopamine is released, Prolactin is released by the body.

Prolactin gives you a limp Dick.

Prolactin is only released at higher doses. The same thing happens with MDMA.

That's why when you don't do a lot, it's still stimulates you and you can get your dick hard.
 
I don't think dopamine causes prolactin release. Instead, antagonizing dopamine (like with antipsychotics) causes an increase in prolactin, this is what lets psych patients grow breasts (gynecomastia). Did you ever see a male meth user with tits?

Instead I'd think it was the norepinephrinergic component of amphetamines which is to blame for limp dick syndrome. Of course, cognition plays a huge role as well but stims just cause dicks to shrivel, independent of how one is enjoying the high.
 
Anxiety is the most common element of erectile disfunction. If you are thinking about worrying about your dick getting hard then you are not thinking about the erotic things that cause your dick to get hard. It's like insomnia. Speed gets you hyper, so that's definitely a factor.

I'll let everyone else argue over how much of a factor or whether it's the only factor.

Have sex with someone you are comfortable with. If your dick doesn't get hard, be prepared to suck some pussy. Trust the lady well enough to reciprocate when you are done. Clip coupons. Rotate your tires. Do you know where your kids are?
 
I was under the impression that vascoconstriction played the biggest role. I admittedly have a very, very limited understanding on these issues, what causes them or how to appropriately treat them. In my first-grade understanding, I thought that the added strain put upon the cardiovascular system by stimulant usage, including Cocaine, Amphetamines and others, makes getting and maintaining an erection more difficult. Given what we know about Amphetamines, I think it would make a lot of sense for a psychosomatic piece to be involved as well.

Yeah, you're right.

It's extremely high levels of serotonin that increase secretion of prolactin.

I can pull the citations if you want, It's more common in ecstasy limp dick, but at high doses of methamphetamine there's significant amount of serotonin secretion as well.

Vasoconstriction also plays a role, however when Viagra or Cialis failed to work, it's because of prolactin.
 
And what about people high on meth spending days fapping and looking at porn?
 
Aye, definitely due to the vascular constriction. Stimulants pull blood away from the extremities, like the fingers and feet, and your poor dong is included unfortunately.
A good thing to do if you must use meph as a sex drug is to try getting things started, then smoke or snort a little bit. It doesn't seem to ruin you as badly.
Stimulants and sex are a bit of a tightrope walk and one must use moderation if you're going to be able to perform.
 
I have never taken meth but i have taken loads of dexedrine and not gotten limp dick. Amphetamines seem to annihilate any anxiety i have though

I get anxious if I dont get any sleep no matter if im on drugs or not.
its totally normal.
Every sound gets more intense.
But I some people are just freaks and staying up even for 4 days which is insane-
I dont know what dexedrine is

Dextroamphetamine is what dexedrine is. Stronger then amphetamine sulphate but weaker then meth And ya i getcha on the anxiety bit dont worry
