Is hemp legal for MEDICINAL use?

Hi everyone.

Basically what I want to do is extract CBD from hemp. I looked at the legality of hemp on wikipedia and it says hemp IS legal to grow but it says "for INDUSTRIAL use".

But, there are sites/businesses out there, based in australia, who sell "hemp SEED oil" (are seeds more legal than the actual plant?) and other hemp seed products used for nutritional reasons and stuff.

So if I start growing hemp in my backyard will I get arrested or anything?

Anyone have any ideas?

If you do not own a company that utilizes hemp for it's textile (or other) properties, you are not growing hemp for industrial use, and are apparently breaking AUS law.
