^I can certainly understand how you would feel that way--I'm sure I would feel the same. But someone asking you to prove something beyond your word is because your words came to mean nothing they could count on in the past. A very powerful book I read years ago spoke to this. It's called The Four Agreements by Miguel Angel Ruiz. While I think you should be able to set your own boundaries about what you will or will not do for others, recognizing that the lying associated with drug use completely destroys trust in yourself and others is a place to start healing. Honor is a slippery concept but when it is tied to integrity it makes the most sense to me.
