How often can I take Hydrocodone? Should I adjust the dosage?

I tried Hydro my first time recently. I did a CWE on 4 5/325's (spilled some). They were ~1.5yrs old, so the effective dose was probably much lower (inc. CWE). I found the effects very cozy, but didn't feel any euphoria. Should I change the dosage, and if so, how much? Regarding how often it can be taken, I know there are a lot of other similar threads, but I'm curious what the interval should be for tolerance to never increase. I've heard opioids don't build much tolerance initially, but when they do, the tolerance is relatively permanent. I assume that interval should be long enough to also prevent addiction; if not, I'll listen to other suggestions. My intention is to avoid breaking this limit, and if I do, to immediately discard all opioids.
