Heroin injection question (very weird )

Hello, I'm new here this is my first post , I hope this is the right section. So I IV a shot today and it was the vein on the of the forearm, left arm. I never shoot that vein and haven't shot the left arm in a while so when I injected it I wasn't missing no pain at all if I miss I will feel a intense burn but nothing just smooth sailing. I don't tie off when I shoot because I stop half way to get a feel and sometimes I won't continue if half is enough. But with this shot after I injected half I stopped and waiting... No rush,NOTHING but all the sudden I start to feel a burning in my elbow/upper arm area left arm and I look down and my skin is red and rashed like I had missed .. but I t was way away from injection site and it was at least a good 15 seconds later, i usually will feel a rushbwirhin a few seconds . It's alomost like it leaked out somewhere along while traveling the vein. And I never got a high really. So I'm concerned because this is weird and I can't logically explain it. Anyone have any experience or have any knowledge of what might have happened? Thanks

Probably histamine reaction if it was red n bumpy like hives further up the vein from the injection site.

It’s pretty common with shooting dope. Some ppl seem to have it happen more often. A girl I knew got it a lot. Benadryl or any antihistamine will take it away. She used to even take Benadryl first to prevent it happening so often

I’ve been in here for 10 years in n off but i haven’t posted a lot the last few years cause I was using pretty heavy. Been clean like a month now tho.

Would you by chance know what exactly is causing the histamine reaction? I think it's the cut but as far as what cut is most likely to cause the reaction I don't know.

Opiates like heroin and morphine cause this sort of reaction, which is responsible for the 'opiate itch' and some other symptoms. Idk if it's a direct agonism or indirect release of histamine but I think only antihistamines will be able to stop this from happening.

Hey man that’s awesome! I am unfortunately completely off the whim it would have been 5 years sober this may but I relapsed almost a year ago now. Idk if I will make it through this one to be honest. Im just sick of fighting it man

Update: I found out with it was. So early when I first started to slam dope I did shot once and the mix was really hot it just got cooked so It collapsed completely and when I shot this one I must have hit the vein because it started to burn right where it collapsed there about a .5in part of my vein where there’s not blood flow so when it hit that part it just leaked out .. If that makes sense lol hard to explain
