Heroin... emotional swings. Happiness and despair.

Lately it seems like the only way I feel happiness is when I'm on dope. When I come off the depression is worse than the WD's. On dope everything is happy and great. Off dope I hate everything and feel suicidal. How long before that goes away and I feel like a normal human with regular emotions?
 
Look up PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) the severity and length of how long the symptoms are present varys from one individual to the next but usually it lasts a couple months, with opiates/opioids that have longer half lives it tends to stick around a bit longer. I'm going to move this to Basic Drug Discussion.
 
Depression is a symptom of opioid w/d.

Did you have pre-existing depression?

When you w/d, are you doing so cold turkey?
