I've got Hocus Pocus. I wanna add some more to the playlist tho.

What Halloween films do you like or recommend?

Cheers thanks a lot!

Anything, everything - I don't mind  Was trying to think of some movies earlier and came up a bit blank. Thought others might enjoy having a little list they could peruse for inspiration too

New-ish that I'd recommend

The Last Voyage of the Demeter
Talk to Me
Blood Red Sky
The Invitation
Smile
It Follows
Green Room
Hereditary
The Witch
MidSommar
Let the Right One In
Let Me In
The Endless
Apostle
The Ritual
It Comes at Night
Barbarian

Fictional legend

The backstory for the film is a legend fabricated by Sánchez and Myrick which is detailed in the Curse of the Blair Witch, a mockumentary broadcast on the SciFi Channel on July 12, 1999. Legend.

Made with two cameras, no sound effects or background music, only three actors, one old house. In the woods !!!

Amazing. grossed $29.2 million

Some experienced motion sickness and vomiting in the audience.

This is a pretty good one. I remember that it had a bizarre release when it came out…a few screenings, a straight to DVD release a couple years later in 2009, and its first theatrical showing (according to that wiki page) in 2022! But it had a lot of positive buzz by the time it was finally released on DVD and it’s worth checking out imo. It’s available to stream

Amazing lists, great ideas! I'd forgotten half of those. That's gonna bolster Halloween no end. Gotta get the pumpkin pie and spooky candy and cookies now...

The Excorcist

Although it's best viewed as a young teenager in an otherwise totally-empty cinema

It was a double bill - Exorcist and Excorcist ll. When the lady stood at the side in the interval with her spookily-lit tiny tray of refreshments I slid down and hid behind the seat in front, petrified

It's an extremely clear memory (a rarity let me tell ya) over 4 decades later

Not really Halloween but they are freaky, I've started the Saw films from the beginning again, I'm on number 6 now, I had bad dreams last night because I watched number 4 and 5 before bed though and its actually Halloween so I'm scaring myself but keep pausing it to come on here as I've only recently joined today and want to see what's going on lol
