what do you think accounts for the difference between cultures on the fascination with the taboo? What do you think it reflects about their cultural sexual nature?

i was only aware of schoolgirl fantasies, hentai, crushing, and of course bukakke. some of these are bizarre, and some are rather innovative.

here's an eye-popping example

I don't think there's an answer to the question of what makes a particular culture tick sexually--because, keep in mind, we can probably never know if porn represents sexual fetishes/practices as they are, or if it in fact manufactures them to a degree, making it sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. To a point, of course.

There are books out there, like Psychopathia Sexualis that show that fetishes like S/M, urophilia, coprophilia and the like have been around in the Western world for at least a hundred years or so, and probably much longer. Past a certain boundary, what constitutes a sexual focus of a subset of people comes down to random personal, experiential, and cultural factors, IMO.
