In general, direct to video films tend to be of lower quality than films that got theatrical releases. There are films out there that probably should have gotten released in theatres as they were actually of good quality. What are some films you can think of that went direct to video but were actually pretty good?

I liked the Aladdin sequel "The Return of Jafar". It wasn't as good as Aladdin but it was decent enough to watch again.

Wow, Return of Jafar went straight to video? Aladdin was a blockbuster, right?!

I'll have to come back to this thread, I know there's a bunch of straight to video gems out there.

Session 9 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261983/) is pretty damn good.

Or Peter Jackson's first few films.

The third Lion King film is alright, it's basically the first one told from the perspective of Timon & Pumbaa with more background on them.

I believe Aladdin was a blockbuster. You know I forgot to mention the even better sequel "Aladdin the Prince of Theives".

They seem to be the only disney sequels that were fairly decent. Though I haven't seen Simba's pride (The Lion King sequel).
