ye I think if were going for gratuitous sex that maybe masquerade balls are the go but for actually finding a partner these services have failed.

I once tried a few dating services.

afterwards it took every ounce of my moral fibre not to send there services into the digital sea were they belonged so to prevent the risk of me doing something

that might upset others I stay off them.

all I got was scammers trying to get money out of me.

I met my husband and father of child online in the 90s when it was Internet Relay Chat, which was just scrolling text.

There were channels and we were both on #philosophy and #politics. So it was more of a shared interest thing.

They pretend it's that now but it's really just a catalogue of faces, ages, locations.. 😒

Yep. Statistically true compared to other ethnic groups on average, but some take that to mean every dark-skinned bloke is endowed like a porn star. I knew a guy at college who said you get really sick really quick of literally the first question a potential date asks you being about your size, and I can believe that.

I don't do apps but I have quite often been hit on less at gay clubs than non-gay clubs. Gay men have far more of a preference for traditional masculinity(the nauseating term straight acting) than women do. The only other group to get attention comparable to white masculine men in the clubs here are (east)Asian twinks, there are guys who pretty much only sleep with them. I've been going to gay clubs less often in the last five to eight years or so though as the scene was changing for the worse, you used to be able to rely on the queer community to have good conversation, good drugs and good politics but the Vichy gays have been becoming more common - while it's a sign of progress that white, cis, financially secure gay men feel they have less to fear from conservatives I just can't stand to be around them personally.

A lot of the same dynamics that exist in heterosexual relationships also exist in homosexual relationships. Although each has some that are unique to their own.

I don't like treating people like bitches. However I have hooked up with guys who wanted me to treat them as such.
I did for them cause they liked it but i didn't particularly care for it.


I was gonna jump in here since I'm a gay guy but I think everyone else got most of it covered.


My entire phone ID was banned from grindr for "hate speech" (which wasn't any speech at all, some one just didn't like what they saw in the background of my picture when I didn't reply to them fast enough). You use to be able to just make a new profile in 5 seconds and you're good, but now they will ban your phone completely, so that if you do try to make a profile, it's insta-banned. So it's not only trans & such that get the shit end of the stick & feel outcasted. If you don' conform to leftist views or ideology, you'll get kicked off these "tolerant" "wonderful" & "diverse" apps for "hate speech". Leaves little room for personal expression, unless that personal expression aligns with the current narratives/political agendas. Or you're one of thousands of new 'marginalized groups'. Bigotry goes both ways.


So while some here complain that these apps give CIS White males privilege, I literally am banned from it for that very reason. How ironic.
Although I have to agree that these apps are full of narcissists & sex addicts (usually meth addicts).

this is interesting banned from grindr on ya phone.

having a very short look at this it seems its not a phone number or ime number ban and rather a data file that is stored on your phone.

so phone might have to be jailbroken then ban removal is as simple as deleting the right files.





it seems that from the threads above that on iphone they do use your ime which means new phone not new number or delete files.

as I dont use it I may have to get my self banned just to see if I can undo it :)

ye on android I dont think they gave over the ability to log ime like apple did on ios so worst case its a new sim and factory reset.

though if you have rooted ya phone and have dual sim just change one of the sim and delete the files for grindr from the shell.

reinstall grindr and off you go.

hell what do I care I dont use it and im truly thinking of giving it my best to break the internet for a com sci paper.

though that will cost me a lot in bandwidth so if I do go down that path I am going to have to save for some time.
