Can someone please tell why it is that when i try to convert gbl in to ghb using the lye method that im not able to get the chemical reaction and what im left with is extremely high ph and burns.? Is the gbl im using not pure enough? Thanks

This is getting a little close to practical synth discussion, and frankly, if you can't calculate the stoichiometry of the reagents you are likely going to hurt yourself given further instruction.
