this otherness
this impossiblity
the self-expression
the cold nights.
the not eating for days on end,
bones protruding through flesh.
the withdrawal from society
the litres of alcohol
the milligrams of ecstacy;
measurements of something
unmeasurable.
this destiny,
this life other than life
this heart in my hand
those words, with those feelings
that midnight waiting
that taxi ride home
that Winter.
this ring, with that stone
that price
your price
your past,
that childhood
my regret.
your friend,
my friend
hate.
indifference.
your dad
and your mum.
your future,
your favourite magazine,
those flowers
your ex.
the park in Spring,
holding your hand.

those eyes,
no longer the same,
those eyes
looking at the table
like a wilted flower:

we both know
the dream is over
but we don't say anything

eventually, though

you walk away.

I like it, I wanna give a go at that style..

This phenomenon,
this stark cruelty.
This state,
this abject essence.
The lacking,
the void.
The urge,
the need.

Waves of sound,
waves of emotion.
Dragging me under,
pulling me deeper.

The inevitable.
The foreseeable.
The potential.

This neglected urge.
This assailant need.
This is intolerable .

This unnatural desertion.
This inherent wrong.

We are strangers.
I am the stranger.

This devotion.
This isolation.
This distance.
This disconnect.
This separatedness.
This otherness.
This stagnation.
This unbreakable chain.
This prison.
This redundancy.
This, that I don't want.

This bond.
This connection.
This meaning.
This care.
This appreciation.
This all escapes my mind,
as I am left with this ultimatum.

This decision.
The decision.
Decide.

Nice, I actually like yours more than mine =)

Awesome poems guys. pk. have you read any EE Cummings? I've read a couple things you've written on here and for some reason your style reminds me of his in ways.

I love E.E. Cummings, actually. And have felt whilst reading his work that it is the most appealing in style and structure, I love the erratic-ness of it! Thanks for the critique =)
