four o'clock appointment


Here I go again,
pinning my promises like water to the walls

Here you go again,
comforting and caressing as a heart-attack

Here we go again,
scraping my veins for ink to remember my flaws

Here you go again,
dissecting me like a science class formaldehyde frog

Here I go again,
hair-splitting with fine tooth comb through sorrow and lies

Here you go again,
with counter-arguments like hail from rusty barrels

Here I go again,
deflecting in my futile attempt to live forever

Here we go again,
and I roll with my eyes
