First time meth user questions

Hello I will try to keep it super brief. Broke my back in the army got hooked on prescribed opiates took me years to get off them but after a 3 year battle I finally did.

I was clean for 3 years and all was well in my life until recently when I fell off a ladder and hurt my back really bad again. I have this super tight knot on my mid left back and I just can't get rid of it. I tried massage, acupuncture, muscle relaxers you name it I've done it. Since I use to be an addict for prescribed opiates my doctor naturally and understandably was against vicodin even for a limited time like a week to try and get through it as I worked on fixing my back.

I couldn't stand the pain anymore one night after crying for 2 hours and not having slept in days due to discomfort. So a friend who is a very casual meth user (maybe a few times a month) offered me some as it's all he had. I said I'd never touch the stuff but after researching it online a bit it didn't seem that bad when you quit physically compared to opiate withdrawal. And the physical was always my road block the mental has always been easy for me.

So I tried it. I'm anti needle/smoking etc. So I googled a safe dose for first timers to ingest orally 0.05 grams (50mg). It gave me energy and didn't completely nullify the pain but knocked it way way down to a super acceptable level. I didn't get a rush of energy and wasn't super talkative or "tweeking" I was my normal self but comfortable.

I did this dose for 2 days and now I've stopped. It's been 36 hours since my last use. My back still hurts but it's slowly becoming less and less. My main complaints currently are obvious fatigue, discomfort, lack of appetite and when I force myself to eat it makes me feel cautious and upset stomach.

Could I have poisoned myself somehow because I feel rotten inside? It was glass and my friend claimed great quality never had issues on it. Could i be experiencing withdrawal after only having used 50mg once a day orally for 2 days?

How soon can I expect to feel better generally speaking if so after only having used that dose twice after being clean 3 years?

I have a doctor appointment for the knot in my back in 1 day and I'm worried they will want urine and blood to rule out any other possible causes and find it in my system and like deny me care or something.

I messed up, lesson learned, I'm ashamed of myself but I did it and it's done and now I'm trying to move forward and make better decisions.

P.S. sorry for typos, typing from my phone

Check the dose range here https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/Methamphetamine.

Meth is even more potent by weight than other amphetamines, and 50mg is a high dose for a beginner.

I recently made a similar choice to self-medicate with this substance orally, and my first time 20mg had me flying and gurning like crazy with an afterglow lasting for days, and even after a few months I've never gone as high as 50. And I've never done consecutive days, but even at my lowish "therapeutic" doses I have still had some multi-day comedowns, which sounds like what you're experiencing especially after a higher recreational dose 2 days in a row.

No need to be ashamed--in fact I'd say it's good that you at least looked up your doses and decided against smoking.

I don't know anything about the pain effect but if you do decide to try again for whatever reason I'd say wait for a couple of weeks and try a much lower dose, especially if you plan to use it daily. Or alternate it with something else.

If I were you I'd just steer clear from the meth and try to find some opiates. I know you said you were previously addicted but you can use that as all the more reason you don't want to continue taking them and become dependant in them. You can use the opiates whenever the pain gets unbareable but making sure not to take for more than 3 or 4 days in a row without putting the same amount of time in between. This is truly the better option especially if you're willing to do meth. Heroin is the much better option as it's nontoxic to the body contrary to the meth which is horrible for your body.

Hi mate

About your injury: Having had a bad fall after a broken back is pretty serious and I hope you keep going back to your doctor and get a scan to see exactly what damage there is there. If its just temporarily injured then there are pain meds that would work to make it bearable. Codeine is an opiate but the risks of readdiction at this stage are not high enough to warrant you being in pain.

You can ask for pain relief, you just have to have a short script no repeats and dont fuck around with thrm to get high, just use them to relieve pain.

Pregalbin works too but it works well only if you take it regularly every day with no breaks do its not really the best option.

As for meth: yes it can make you feel a lot better if youre nentally drained, tired from pain and weirdly can make pain ease up. For a while. Then itll contribute to the problem.

A sore back needs physio and regular stretching and gentle exercise but i dunno anything about that as an a lazy fat wanker ha ha

Fear of opioid addiction is reasonable- turning to meth is extreme - however there is NO reason to be ashamed, you just tried something. However meth isn't the answer for chronic pain; your not poisoned , just crashing, since, meth is really strong, what you took was probably like, guessing off the top of my head here, a quarter gram of adderal?
You need a PRN opioid; Lyrica is effective for certain types of pain, however it is a chronic treatment, and hit or miss; luckily being in pain reduces the risk of relapse/addiction; remember buprenorphine is always an option as something a bit more manageable; hopefully a pain specialist will be able to take care of you. Sorry cannot help with drug testing, for everything else, it's up to you and your kevek of pain and self control, and of course what they will do have medically. Luck, and maybe be careful with experimental self medication in the future; wouldn't want to pull out PCP Or Ketamine or anything

I appreciate all the feedback. About a day or so after this post I woke up and the knot pain in my back has all but subsided. In hindsight I could of toughed it out but the not knowing how long part has always been my downfall with injuries in terms of making bad decisions.

I never took any more glass after my previously mentioned 2 days and I had some pretty gnarly stomache aches and diahrea and pretty bad shakes for about half a day and the worst was probably dehydration always thirsty, always cotton mouth. But aside from that it wasn't bad.

The reason I went the meth route over trying to get opiates was a 2 part thing. The first is I read meth physical withdrawal was nothing compared to opiate withdrawal and the physical was always my road block to getting clean the mental aspect has never phased me. I don't crave and I don't get depressed. The other part of it is I don't really know how to get illegal drugs especially pills. When I got clean I cut all those people out of my life. The meth friend was just a right place right time sort of deal.

I decided to post pone my Dr appointment to give my body time to flush out the gunk in case they do blood work etc and because I'm alot better than I was. So other than feeling a bit crappy still I'm ok and appreciate the replies.

I've always been an opiate guy. IV all the way. I've gotten clean a few times. This time I've been clean off ops for 6 months roughly. I moved out of town where I knew I wouldn't know anyone. Randomly, I was given a bag of meth. I didn't think it was that much. I also found an IV rig. I decided to shoot. That little bit has lasted 5 days. The first night i did way too much but had fun. The next day I felt like I was in a weak detox, anxiety, sweating, depressed, cold. Third day I had work and decided to do a shot first thing in the morning. I felt really good for like 5 hours. After that, it wore off and was feeling shitty again. Came home from work, did a shot and mildly enjoyed my evening. Repeated the process for 5 days and just did my last shot. Basically just to get rid of it. I don't really get this drug. I'd rather do coke for an upper, or just orally take adderol. Too hard to regulate. At least with opiates I can go to sleep and have meal while is ruining my life. The only upside to meth, the detox/comedown is not near as bad as an opioid withdrawal. Just wanted to share.
