Finance committee adds police to $31M opiate settlement spending plan​

A three-week squabble over how the state should spend its first $31 million payment from litigation against the opiate industry ended Thursday as the Legislature’s budget committee approved a revised plan for using the money to combat the state’s opioid addiction crisis.

Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee rewrote a plan originally drafted by the state Department of Health Services (DHS), adding requirements to send some of the money to county sheriff departments and other local law enforcement agencies. And it added new provisions directing some of the funds to programs at specific organizations — without naming them.

To make up for those changes, the revised plan eliminates one proposed drug abuse prevention program as well as a proposed program to support families or close associates of people who abuse drugs.

The DHS is another in a long line of face plants by the medical community that have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. It’s a state prescription monitoring system the flys in the face of privacy laws and gets people permanently banned from medication they need.

First you all got fooled like young children by the Oxy drug dealers. Then you're trying to make up for this and your adjustments are sending all your "patients" to the streets where the unregulated greedy cartel feeds them deadly fent.

Your “reason” for doing this is they have developed a “substance use disorder” and your not qualified to treat that condition.

If your not qualified to treat that what in the fuck are you doing prescribing addictive medications.

What a cowardly cope out.. sorry your fucked, go figure it out!!

They require you purchase something, likely an “authorized vendor” who’s probably just a Ron Johnson subsidiary company or something.. Same with Naloxone. Why prevent the problem when you can make money off it?

It’s a scary time in WI. They need need “radical left” Mandela Barnes, this money might’ve gone to where it was needed.
