Great film, but you have to be in the right frame of mind for it. Not quite sure what that right frame is... possibly a Sunday afternoon, about 1 o'clock, slightly aching from last night's dancing, soothed with subtle mixture of mild analgesics, a comfy jumper, and a cannabis-enriched haze through which to view this meandering nonsense. :D

i bought the dvd just from bl recommendations, and have tried it a few times, but i haven't found that magic spot yet. i can appreciate it, but i've been saving it for years waiting for that right moment.

wifey and all flatmates and visitors go through regular withnail and i drills,.... you know just in case

I love it, one of my favourite films, and pretty deep n sad despite the hilarity, too. Definitely less of a "g3t crunk to" film than some people give it credit for, tis a masterpiece! Watched intoxicated it can become even more side-splitting though... :D
