pretty suprised that there is not a thread on this yet.

tyson is an almost too intimate biopic documentary on one of the most controversial athletes on the planet. the format is very minimalistic; mostly just a single camera and tyson's voice. tyson candidly reflects on the death of his trainer cus d'amato, his rape conviction, his marriage to robin givens etc.

its a very honest and entertaining portrait of a conflicted, contradictory figure.

dig it

oh man, he's so sad. he rambles all over the place. this kinda depressed me.
although i literally laughed out loud when he said that he "performed fellatio" on some chick.

the hollyfield fight by his perspective was interesting.

Tyson is my favortie boxer of all time. His video game kicked ass, he kicked ass, and that was a bullshit charge against that he was wrongfully convicted of.

Plus he was hilarious in "The Hangover"!

he's the greatest boxer of all time, imo. his video game was pretty sweet as well. And he was really funny in "The Hangover". It sucks that bitch accused him of rape and the dick-jury convicted him of it. He got screwed by the system.

Wrongfully convicted? Have you ever seen interviews with this guy? The man is feral, driven crazy from too many knocks to the head and massive steroid use.

The man is pure evil. Spiritually void and dangerous.

I see you're from Canada and not that there's anything wrong with that. If you could live one day in the shoes of a 12 year old kid from the ghetto's of New York or Chicago I think you'd change your mind. It's pure desperation and a kill or be killed kind of world, even for kids. That kind of up bringing never leaves you.

As far as the mention of steroids that's pure speculation, unless of course you have some proof?

Good film. I'm not a boxing fan, but I really enjoyed watching this one.
Tyson contradicts himself all over the place and like IP said, it's kinda sad...but I
dont believe he's "evil" like somebody else mentioned in this thread.
His voice , mannerisms and aura actually elicit a lot of empathy from me.

i agree with u 100%, he's a classic example of being a product of his difficult environment. Even though im from canada, i've listened to hip hop and watched documentaries of your ghetto's (especially during the time Tyson was growing up), and clearly only the toughest survive, and he did whatever he could to survive. I wish him the best and u can tell he's learning (he speaks well, looks up to his elders, he's turned to religion-Islam). I wish he continues to better himself, and this is why people are so attached to him.
