Has anyone seen this?
I watched it last night.
It is based off of a book by the same title by Stieg Larsson.
It is the first of a trilogy.

I really liked the movie, myself.
It was well done, suspenseful, and kept me interested throughout.
My hubby had a different experience. He thought it was over done and fell asleep halfway through ! :)

Have you seen it and what did you think?
They are working on making it into an American movie as well- Should be interesting to see the differences............

4/5 From me.

I really enjoyed it even if some of the scenes were a bit confronting. I saw it without having read any of the books too which probably helped in terms of the plot being suspenseful and keeping me on the edge of my seat (and awake ;) ). Very well acted and some gorgeous settings.

Apparently all three novels have been filmed, all three have aired already in Sweden but the first of the trilogy is supposedly the best. I heard mentioned somewhere that the three of them have also been re-edited and released as a 6 part mini-series for tv?

NSFW:
I think the unnecessarily graphic rape scenes could have been pulled off with a little more restraint and still driven the point home...

^^I meant spoiler but I......well I just don't know how to do that : (

Besides that I was certainly entertained and engaged.

i thought the first one ( dragon tattoo ) was good. but the other 2... not so good. 2nd ( girl who played with fire ) was the worst out of the 3... one scene, you'll know when u see it was just totally unbelievable, it was ridiculous and the niedermann character, i have no idea if he was the same in the book ****** really outlandish.

will be interesting to see what the american version does with the story, based on what i saw in the movies the story is deeply rooted in swedish society/politics and history.

Started watching it but a friend of mine kept having these idiotic laughing fits about the language. I'll have to watch it some other time but haven't felt like it yet.

I saw about half the movie, but damn Netflix kept crashing (GWTDT is on Instant-View).

So, I started reading the book instead, and the book is so much more complex and interesting than what I saw of the movie, that I won't see the film until I've finished not only the first book (getting close), but until I've read the whole trilogy. :)

I thought the film was excellent, I think my girlfriend found parts of it difficult to watch!

I don't see the point of the American remake, it really annoys me that people will bypass the original because of the subtitles and miss out! Same with "Let The Right One In".

Strangely cornballish. The subtitles didn't work for me. The pace of the movie is poor and I think there were some unintentionally funny moments. I had to read the wiki because the whole notion of her guardian was lost on me.
