film: Saw VI???

I thought the 1st was good, the 2nd was better, and the 3rd was the best, but the 4th sucked. Never watched Saw 5.

I have no problem with horror franchises. I really like the Friday the 13th movies 1 thru 8, as well as the newer remake. And N.O.E.S was decent too. Plus it makes for great conversation on sites like this one to discuss what everyone's favorite "one" is between all of them.

I couldn't get past the first two. Way too gross for this girlie.

I started watching the third but got to the scene with the Latino guy in the classroom and had to shut it off.

Ugh, I still can't get that hole of syringes out of my mind.

Oh thank you for giving me neelde nightmares.
Aaaaah.

Now I will not be able to get the gorey scenes of saw out of my head. Poo.

The needle pit was great! Especially if you've ever IV'd drugs.
Disturbed me more than any of the other devices in the series.

Does anyone else think the Saw series is kind of like David Fincher's "Se7en"?

It disturbed me too! I've not used via IV (and never will) but just the thought, you know?

I don't care how many are in the series, I've generally enjoyed them all thus far - the creativity of the devices, and trying to follow the continuity from movie to movie.
^This is what I've enjoyed as well. I love the intricate and often mind-blowing contraptions that are created to kill the characters. Absolutely mesmorising and horrifying at the same time. Plus all of those plot twists have kept me coming back for more, again and again.

I have to get Busty up to speed on the series before we go watching the latest one and this one yet to be released. Looking forward to another Saw session soon - they stand up to repeat viewings very well imho. :)

seen them all but 5. i will probably see this one. ive always liked the saw movies. i do not have a strong stomach however so i have to make sure im not really full or drunk or something while watching :)

Being a horror veteran, SAW revived the genre like nothing has in a decade or more. I mean, before this series, when was the last time anyone cringed at a "scary" movie? I have a huge collection of old italian movies (Fulci, Argento etc) and its been so long since horror really got me excited. But, SAW has now had its copiers, and its been labelled as starting the so called "torture porn" genre because of its graphic nature. Since then, things have gotten so much worse with certain directors trying to out-gross each other. A movie has just been banned last week in the UK called "Grotesque". Its a Japanese flick which basically involves a character kidnapping a man and woman and torturing them for about 70mins with little plot. Nails in the testicles, nipples cut off, eyes gouged out, arms sawn off. Its more like a snuff movie. I saw it last week, and its hard going. But I guess banning something has the effect that people want to experience it (as we all know lol).
