exactly correct. seth rogan movies no longer get a free pass :( there are some funny one-liners and james franco is pretty hillaious throughout, but movie makes dude where's my car look like citizen kane. the plot is of course total bullshit, but for some reason humor is substituted for slapsticky violence and really corny looking explosions. of course the happy biproduct of this is that rosie perez gets punched in the face but that hardly makes it worthwhile.

I was excited about this but the previews make it look like total dogshit.
 
I thought it was great. Totally stupid and asinine, and incredibly sloppy from a film making standpoint, but highly enjoyable nonetheless.

Also, the fact that they got huey lewis and the news to do the closing credits song earns it bonus awesome points.

the action was awesome, the comedy was great
i didnt know that james franco could play such a good pot head
 
I laughed so loud that I kept covering my mouth. Why I don't know. I was stoned. I wish you could light up midway thru a flick.
 
wow people take life too seriously. the movie was great. it had a very silly and unbelievable plot with gaping holes in it. so what? this isn't f'ing titanic this is a movie where the two main characters are high the entire time.

there were parts that i thought could have been done better (everything to do with his highschool girlfriend and her parents) and parts that i thought could have been edited out. but overall it was great.
 
Wasn't that great....was disappointed but hey, I got to get high and go out with my friends, so I had fun.
 
They advertised it as a stoner movie, it started off with some stoners but was more of a (shitty) action movie. It got to the point of ridiculousness...and not the entertaining kind.
 
I'm not sure what people were expecting from this movie, but I absolutely loved it. Kickass vulgar/stoner/slapstick humor with ridiculous over the top comedic action thrown in.

I laughed to the point of where I should have been embarrassed.

Well done Apatow, Rogen and crew, well done.

I completely agree with you about the girlfriend subplot. That could have been cut out of the movie because it served no purpose by being in the movie. Not one second of any scene with the girlfriend and her parents was funny.

This movie had its moments, but overall I was disappointed and slightly confused. The "thug life" guy was just fucking annoying and the script was all over the place. Damn this could have been a really good movie if they hadn't tried to make two different movies and combine them together. And what the fuck was up with the asians? All that over the tired ass plot of, "You killed my brother!" Two stars and that's only because of Seth Rogen and James Franco.
 
Saw this last night. I laughed a decent amount...there are some good one liners and even better under the breath comments throughout. The high school girlfriend subplot was fucking retarded, although I don't mind seeing "Stan Sitwell" in things. :D
 
I dunno. Something about him just doesn't sit well with me. Ha! Funnier than the entire movie. End scene.
