i just watched casino royale (on blue-ray - magnificent) on saturday so i've been thinking about this.

i'm told the story for quantum of solace starts one hour after the end of casino royale. this - and lost of other excellent trivia - at imdb.

the trailer is excellent.

i read somewhere (probably darkhorizons) that this film will have a TWENTY MINUTE intro before the opening credits.

^ I can see it. Not out of the question for a Bond film.

Casino Royale was the first watchable 007 film since the Roger Moore days, IMO. Not just watchable, but terrific. :)

Old Layer Cake (Daniel Craig) makes a hell of a James Bond.

Ice cold.

i love Craig as Bond. many people i know disagree, but i think he did well and this new one will be fantastic.

For me the ranking of James Bond actors:

1. Sean Connery
2. Daniel Craig
3. .........
4. PROFIT

I thought Timothy Daltrey was cool.

***Pulls up flame shield***

=D

But seriously, this new movie sounds awesome... I hate environmentalists. :D

it looks ace. as they all do. as they all are. :)

pierce brosnan was a perfect Bond, no love for him? :(

that is unusual and intriguing. cool. %)

pierce brosnan was fantastic. goldeneye really brought the franchise back to life.

daniel craig has done well thus far. looking forward to this next one, although the trailer doesn't really excite me at all.

when it comes to bond films, the person who plays the villain is just as important, if not slightly moreso than the person who plays bond.

Pierce Brosnan was a great James Bond. Aside from Goldeneye, he just had really poor material with which to work. Casino Royale was pretty damn fantastic. It might have been the Fleming source material, Craig, the director, or some combination of the three. Regardless, the bar is set high, and it will be interesting to see how well they follow up.

visually it looks pretty sick. same as casino royale. i think everything about casino royale was good, EXCEPT daniel craig. i don't like him as bond at all. james bond is supposed to be the smoothest motherfucker alive (like sean connery played him.) craig doesn't portray the character that way at all to me. that doesn't mean i wont see the movie though.

^ I kind of agree. James Bond is supposed to be smooth as a baby's bottom (a la Sean Connery). BUT, I like where they are going with Craig as the new Bond. It's important to breathe new life into the character/franchise ever decade or so (like Pierce Brosnan did with Goldeneye in the 90's).

I am excited for the movie. It'll be on my short list of movies to see this fall.

I've read a couple of the books (shamelessly misogynistic though they are, but hey, it's Bond right?) & Daniel Craig really nails the character, in my opinion.

Casino Royale was great & hopefully this will be even better. :)

james bond nails most of the 'bitches' in the films anyway, that's his job. ;)

hey! i didn't realise we voted on trailers now? is that a new thing or have i just not noticed?

nah, the polls go up early in anticipation for people seeing the movie early

roger moore was never james bond. he was an interim

sean connery is the only ever
although pierce brosnan fits the role quite well too

i have no real problem with timothy dalton
but i'm not a fan of daniel craig. just question of tastes

indeed sir. ;)

i don't think that roger moore ever got the respect he deserved for his bond.

absolutely. it was a complete surprise to me, growing up, that he wasn't particularly well-received at the time.

i think he had it all. perhaps i'm biased because it's of my era, but the upper-class englishness, the dry humour, his sleazy way with the ladies - to me that's what james bond was all about. pierce brosnan nailed it as well, albeit as an irishman. ;)

i can still enjoy the connery ones of course, but he was just too serious for my liking. may i be hung, drawn & quartered for such treason. :D
