Film: In Bruges

Just got back from seeing this and I was very very happy with it. Hilarious, but also still sort of heartbreaking. Yet, you come away a little uplifted. And who doesn't love a midget touting the future holy war between black midgets and white midgets while all coked up in hotel room with some hookers. Good times all around. Colin Farrel actually wasn't unbearably Colin Farrel, turned in a great performance. Highly recommended.

Film: In Bruges

this movie is a story about 2 hitmen from london, ray and ken (colin farrell and brendan gleeson). they are sent from london to bruges, belgium, an old medieval town w/ lots of history and canals, and told to wait for a phone call from harry (ralph fiennes) who is in london. ken is fine w/ staying in bruges and waiting for the call, while ray complains and wants to get back to london.

a love interest for ray is there as well, in the form of a very beautiful actress, clémence poésy, who happens to play an actress in this film who speaks very good english, being as its not her native (she is french).

heres a picture of poésy, who reminds me a lot of our own aishas star. i kept trying to think who she looked like throughout the movie, and i think thats it.

this film is funny and entertaining all the way through. it kept my attention and i see why it got great reviews. i suggest seeing this.

I watched this just now, and I love it.

Farrell and gleeson both put in great turns, excellent camerawork, compelling storyline - everything.

I'm biased in that I like to see a movie with Irish leads and characters - by reason of nationality- but even so, this is well done.

I was surprised at how good it was. Guess I went in with fairly low expectations, but I came out really, really pleased. Probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long time...

i just watched this a few weeks ago and I had no idea Collin Farrel could be this funny. I guess I will always either see him as Bulls-eye from Daredevil, some cop from SWAT, or Alexander! Ralph Feines was fucking awesome as usual.

But yeah, good movie. Totally not what i expected it to be from the previews. Probably the first hitman movie I have ever seen that had an "indie" feel to it. Which at the beginning of the movie did not really resonate with me, but did after about 15 minutes or so.

Overall, good movie.

I am glad to hear this movie is pretty good. I recalled being initially excited and then promptly disappointed the first time I saw the preview for this film but recently I have heard a lot of great things about it. I definitely need to check it out, it would be interesting to see Collin Farrel in a good role, not acting like a fool.

The writing is fantastic for this film and the presentation of said writing is absolutely top notch. Loved it. The mix of darkness and quippy humour was awesome. Really glad we went and saw it... saw one preview for it while watching another film and were hooked.

I don't want to die... in fucking Bruges!!!
