it had a few laughs and kept me just entertained for 90 minutes

interesting to see that the majority of votes have put it in middle ground

all in all I was a little disappointed as I was expecting a bit more from a Mike Judge offering
 
most people i know really enjoyed this and thought it was hilarious. i disagree. the idea was of good intention. just wasn't done right.
 
Pretty dross.

I managed up to the point where he was in court, before switching off.

It barely raised a smile for me.
 
This movie's pretty damn funny, but more of a movie you watch in passing rather then sitting down and watching the whole thing.
 
heavy-handed, but consciously so? obviously not marketed as an art or 'cult' film, i'm thinking this is intended to hit home with the kind of people living the lifestyle that's being satirized. and that's probably why it wasn't released ... because it's a direct wake up call to the average american, who will undoubtedly find it more insulting than humorous.

i thought there were a few really great scenes, but he should have gone the whole 9 and just made it a full-on slap in the face. it's watered down with cliche to try to make it more palatable i think.
 
absolutely one of my favorite comedies ever. better even than office space, imo.
 
It's a good movie. For all of its flaws it's still memorable and very different from any other movie. It's sort of a concept movie where the makers really went out on a limb to create somthing original, even if it's hit or miss with the public.

lol i just watched this movie. it was a bit cliche at times, but i still found it to be pretty entertaining. luke wilson was good. mya rudolph (sp?) looked hot as balls in it. and it was a pretty amusing satirization of the way things are.
 
Yes. Any other time I think Mya Rudolph is kind of weird looking, but damn I would jump her ignorant bones in this movie.
 
Saw it today on TV, lol! Thought it was pretty good 'cause I like dysutopian movies & prostitutes.

Formica Davis: The trial started off boring, and slow, with Not Sure trying to bullshit everyone with a bunch of smart talk. "Blah, blah, blah; you gotta believe me!" That part of the trial sucked! But then, the Chief Justice J just went off: he said "Man, whatever! The guy's guilty as shit; we all know that!" And he sentences him to one night rehabilitation!
