Opioids Elix, terpin hydrate & codiene from the 1960's

I bought a bottle of codeine cough syrup from an antique mall years ago. There is 4 oz in the bottle. It states there is 1grm codeine per oz. Instructions say 1tsp per 4-6hrs. 6 tspns in an oz so is there really approximately 166mg codeine per dose? Thinking about trying 1/2tspn. I haven't had opiates in a long time so should have a low tolerance. Also it's in a suspension of 38-42% alcohol so I don't have to worry about harmful bacteria.
