Drug for wisdom tooth extraction.

The pain afterwards is more relevant. All the sadistic bastards gave me when my wisdom teeth were removed was. 8mg codeine cut with liver rape and they only gave 2days worth. My face swelled up and I was bleeding out my fucking nose in horrible pain. The sick whore made like a thousand bucks off me for a likely unnecessary procedure we've only been doing in very recent human history that caused me incredible pain, during the procedure you should be fine but without Vic's or perc's you will need street opioids for the days after.

if it's local anesthesia, as has been said, you may get a benzodiazepine pre-op.

As others have said, however much Xanax you decide to take, make the surgeon aware of this. Might even call the office before before you take the Xanax, as you may take it and forget to tell them. I had to get 4 wisdom teeth pulled, two were impacted. I was put under general anesthesia, however, I refused opiates which was part of the cocktail. Big mistake because it must have screwed up his calculation. I ended up waking up to him drilling the crap out of me. Luckily they realized I was awake and immediately shot me with another dose of versed/midazolam. Lesson learned, I will never again refuse opiates as part of general anesthesia.

I was given an IV and told the count backwards from ten..... I remember making it to 7 and next thing I know Im being woken up from my dads lap ( I was 19-20) drooling everywhere. My dad said I was telling everybody about God and preaching the Gospel to the staff while I was half way in and out of consciousness..lmao.

They gave me Vicodin afterwords...and I got dry sockets. Easily the most painful experience of my life.. Vicodin was the only thing that allowed me some comfort, but this was well before I knew the potential of opiates.

That must be the best part about working in dentist office. Seeing all these kids fucked up from anesthesia for the first time making fools of themselves.

Dentists here are fucking sadists; no nitrous, no anaesthesia; just a big needle full of Novocain into your gums, and the only drugs they prescribe are antibiotics, not so much as a paracetamol with these lot.

They gave me a weak benzo (I had never taken one before), put something in my vein (no idea what, may not have even been a narcotic) and gave me Nitrous Oxide. I woke up with a mouth full of cotton (they got all 4 at once), no idea where I was, wanting aching to go back to that happy state (that was the first time I ever got high), and then left with a bottle of Vicodin--the 5mgs, and only 20 count, but still. And so my habit was formed.

I used PCP for my extraction. I couldn't possibly think of a better drug.

If you get nitrous on top of that you won't know what's what anyway.

When it was over I was so high I walked face first into the door without opening it on the way out.

Instead of wasting 600$ on aneasthesia i paid 2$ for PCP. I call that a winner.

Sounds like common/reasonable practice.

Yeah, for street dentists in India. You trust them to operate in your mouth, they should do more than masterbate to your pain and money.

Where are you from dopeme?

I'm from the UK, DanOpiAmp. The NHS service is the one I was describing (I suppose it could be compared to the "Obamacare" health service in the states I've been hearing about, in a way.) Anyway, this is the bare bones treatment; they'll pull a tooth if it's rotten, fill a cavity, etc. but if you want the full treatment you have to go private; they use NO2, full anaesthesia, pain relief, etc - but it costs a frigging fortune.

There are some very skilled NHS dentists; but a lot of them just want to get you in an out ASAP. A relative had a tooth infection months back, his dentist was hesitant to touch him, just had him running back and forth to hospitals for X-rays for months. Course, if you leave a tooth infection for too long, it's eventually gonna spread- he had to wait 6 months, and he eventually got septicaemia. I know this sounds like one of those bullshit "horror stories" but it's what happened. The dental practice got shut down for malpractice in the end...turns out they made many fuck ups like this. They also really liked the "quick turnaround" service; they'd inject the Novocain, and immediately begin operating before it had even taken effect.

Get tae fuck ya fukkin fanny. Unless you opt for private dentistry you get novocaine injections and maybe a script for a pack of paracetamol or ibuprofen on the way out. As it's meant to be. Since when does pulling wisdom teeth (under local anaesthetic) actually hurt? It doesn't. Not if you have a dentist who has actually passed a dentistry course. If you need strong opies after an extraction you should be suing your dentist not bitching 'bout pills.

5mg of diazepam 30-60mins before your appointment if you're nervous. Most dentists will script you this if you speak to them beforehand.

Incidentally, I do realise this thread is now past its prime making this comment utterly irrelevant. However, I drunk lotsa booze tonight and appear to be a bit giddy from making (almost) full use of my prescription for the first time in weeks and - for complex, bizarre and deeply dull reasons - I happen to have been following up on a thing wot dopemegently said elsewhere. S/he's from not dissimilar locale to myself so I have no qualms about calling out for pussydom and wishful thinking. Nobody needs strong opioids for minor dentistry. Not unless... *cuts himself of cos even whilst pissed he knows that completing that sentence is only gonna cause much amusement for me (briefly) followed by endless grief to come*

Did I just type all that out loud? Oopsies. Do please excuse me. I blame the drugs :\

*backs away from od and leaves 'em to it for the night*

<3

PS: They did used to give NO2 for dentist stuff back in the 80s. Mostly only to small children but still plenty fun when combined with those freaky posters featuring cartoon animals with dental disorders <3

I used PCP for my extraction.

:D

I'd add to that but given this is a HR forum... ;)

Bollocks mate; no dentist I've spoken to would script diazepam pre-procedure. Yeah, they do sometimes offer ibuprofen and paracetamol scripts, but you can buy those for 30 measly pence a box.

A shot in the gums is no hardship for me, and the post-op pain is something to be dealt with; trust me there's no pussiness on this end- I can take a bit of pain. (Plus I'm on sub, so I feel little pain)- I was just amazed to hear of people on this thread getting such dental "luxuries" as N02 gas, full anaesthesia, benzodiazepines, and opiate painkillers-frigging astounded tbh.

I remember getting the gas in my childhood back in the early nineties -it doesn't knock you out for long at all. I actually prefer Novocain tbh.

Once again, it's the pain after the wisdom tooth extraction that matters. You get crippling pain for days and your face just swells up almost as large as their cocks and clits when they get paid. You look like a retard chipmunk with blood coming out your nose and mouth. They just wash their hands of you after. It is more severe than what can be treated with their toxic over the counter bullshit. Those sick cunts don't tell you about that beforehand, only giving you a scare story about what happens if you don't get their dubious procedure. While they are fisting themselves to the grand they made from you, you get to writhe in pain while raping you liver with bogus OTC treatment.

They're the largest teeth in the mouth with the deepest roots; having one pulled out is a pretty big trauma to the face.

No you don't, your dentist couldn't do his/her job. I got zero discomfort except some bleeding after my extraction. I was on subs though. Bleeding out the nose? What the fuck was your dentist doing to you?

How the fuck could they not do their job? That is there job, they just neglect pain treatment. The fuckhead must have ruptured my sinuses somehow when removing one of the wisdom teeth from my upper jaw I don't fucking know. You got no discomfort because you were high as fuck on opiates. Don't try telling me you weren't feeling high, that subjective feeling is irrelevant. I didn't have the pleasure of being on a powerful narcotic (still counts despite being a partial agonist, your lack of discomfort is a testament to this). How the fuck would a sober person not feel discomfort when you rip giant holes in their jaw to the point of disfiguring inflammation?

You must have had some complications, it just simply wasn't that painful for me (and I was 16, never had opiates before, no other drugs). They took out all 4 in one sitting, with Novacaine and NO2. I was uncomfortable afterwards but still fucked up/passed out from the constant gas in the car on the way home. I only got like 15-20 Darvocet and I didn't even use all of them. After 2-3 days I was fine. I got them out Friday and had to fake pain to be able to miss school again Monday (my mom was a stickler for not missing).

I've had around 3 of my back adult teeth extracted. I have fucked up roots as well- they're long and really twisted in shape, and I didn't get any of the complications I've heard posted above. It was painful, but the pain was manageable with paracetamol and ibuprofen. Actually, the pain was far less severe than having those teeth in my mouth in the first place; all those fuckers were infected, and cause the roots were so long, only a specialist could have reached the nerves for a root canal.

I've got yet another tooth in a similar state, I've tried getting it filled-no luck, so I just want to get the thing pulled ASAP.
